NA Vice Chairman: e-customs facilitate import-export activities

Hanoi (VNA) – Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Phung QuocHien has hailed efforts made by the General Department of Customs in applyinge-customs to facilitate import-export activities.
In a meeting with the customs department in Hanoi on February 21, Hien laudedthe sector’s contributions to the country’s import-export revenue of 400billion USD in mid-December last year.
He also praised the sector’s efforts in preventing smuggling, counterfeit goodsand trade fraud.
On the occasion, the NA official wished that the customs officers will work tofulfill missions assigned by the National Assembly and the Government this year.-VNA
Hanoi’s Customs Department has announced that it collected 21.5 trillion VND (around 947.1 million USD) for the State budget as of December 29, up 4 percent from the estimated figure.
Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung has asked the customs sector to raise state budget collection by 3-5 percent higher than the amount assigned by the National Assembly.

The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
