New album with 70 artists celebrates Lunar New Year

A DVD with performances from more than 70singers, dancers, musicians and theatre artists has been released to celebrateTet (Lunar New Year), which will begin on February 16.   

The DVD, Gala Nhac Viet-Ve Nha Don Tet (Vietnamese Music Gala –Coming Home for Tet- Lunar New Year), features songs, dances and theatricalperformances in praise of country, soldiers, love and Spring.

Veteran singers Dan Truong and Cam Ly sing folk songs featuring traditionalculture and lifestyles, while young pop stars Soobin Hoang Son, Bui Anh Tuanand Van Mai Huong together sing pop, dance and electronic music.

New faces Ai Phuong, Min and Gin Tuan Kiet perform top hits such as PhutGiao Thua Lang Le (Last Minute on New Year’s Eve), Di Ben Em Mua Xuan (Livingwith You in Spring), Di De Tro Ve (Go Away and Come Back).

“Our work is of high quality in both music and and visual content. We hope itsends best wishes to Vietnamese at home and abroad during Tet,” said singer Phuong,winner of the Lan Song Xanh (Green Wave) prize for young talented singerawarded by the Voice of HCM City in 2015. 

On the DVD, cai luong (reformed theatre) actors from the Tran HuuTrang Theatre perform two and three-act comedies highlighting love andtraditional family values. 

Featured performances include contemporary dance groups from HCM City YouthCultural House dressed in traditional Vietnamese ao dai designed by top fashion designers.-VNA
