New Chinese ambassador vows to promote cooperation with Vietnam

Hanoi (VNA) – Newly-accreditedChinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo has affirmed that he will spare noeffort to boost cooperation between the two countries in numerous fields,including defence.
Ambassador Xiong made the remarks during ameeting with General Ngo Xuan Lich, Politburo member and Defence Minister, inHanoi on December 6.
The diplomat said he is glad to take mission inVietnam and will do his utmost to promote the bilateral relations in apragmatic manner.
Minister Lich said defence has become a pillar inthe cooperation between Vietnam and China.
He added that based on the common perceptionsand important agreements reached by the two countries’ Party and State leaders,the ambassador will make remarkable contributions to enhancing the bilateralrelations in general and the defence partnership in particular in line with theVietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.-VNA
The second Vietnam-China defence-security strategic dialogue at deputy ministerial level took place in Beijing on Aug. 28, evaluating the satisfactory progress in the two countries’ relations.

The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
