New outstanding Vietnamese films screened in Russia

Vietnamese Film Days in Russia kicked off in Moscow on October 27, introducing five newly-produced outstanding films winning domestic and international prizes, and gaining high revenue in Vietnam.

Moscow(VNA) – Vietnamese Film Days in Russia kicked off in Moscow on October 27,introducing five newly-produced outstanding films winning domestic andinternational prizes, and gaining high revenue in Vietnam.

Addressing the opening,Sergei Braghin from the organising board said the project is part of culturalcooperation between the two countries, aiming to develop and reinforce bilateralcollaboration in movie industry.

He said that Russianaudiences are excited at the event, which takes place only once in a year.Braghin also expressed his hope that they will love Vietnamese movies like thoseof his generation.

Lai Ngoc Doan from theVietnamese Embassy said that over the past years, cultural cooperation betweenthe two countries has been growing soundly with regular exchange activities.

Doan said that he believesthat the Vietnamese Film Days in Russia will open up a chance for the two sidesto develop collaboration in culture and art, thus strengthening mutualunderstanding, solidarity, friendship and traditional cooperation between thetwo peoples.

Meanwhile, Do Duy Anh,Vice Director of the Vietnam Department of Cinema under the Ministry ofCulture, Sports and Tourism, said that Vietnam and Russia’ cinema sectorsshared a sound traditional partnership. In many decades, Russian movies werescreen widely in Vietnam and become a valuable source of entertainment for manygenerations of Vietnamese audience, he noted.

Anh added that manyVietnamese artists and officials trained in Russia have made significantcontributions to the domestic cinema sector.

Anh voiced his hopethat the event will help further foster the partnership between the twocountries’ movie sectors.

The Vietnamese FilmDays in Russia will run until October 31. The five outstanding films introducedat the event include “Cuoc doi cua Yen” (Yen’s life), “Toi thay hoa vang trenco xanh”  (Yellow Flowers on the GreenGrass), and “Em chua 18” (Jailbait).-VNA
