Nine gold medals added to Vietnam’s tally at ASEAN Para Games

Vietnamese athletes clinched nine gold medals as of 5:30 p.m. on December 6 at the ongoing eighth ASEAN Para Games in Singapore, bringing its gold tally to 24.

Singapore (VNA)🐻 – Vietnamese athletes clinched nine gold medals as of 5:30 p.m. on December 6 at the ongoing eighth ASEAN Para Games in Singapore, bringing its gold tally to 24.

In athletics, Nguyen Hoang Minh finished first in the men’s 400m category in 53.07 seconds, while Phung Dinh Tu won a gold medal in the men’s 100m with a result of 11.61 seconds.
Other gold medals went to Nguyen Thi Thuy in the women’s 100m (15.78 seconds), Tran Van Duc in the men’s 1500m (4 minutes and 47 seconds), and Vuong Chau in the men’s discus throw. Nguyen Thanh Xuan added a gold medal to Vietnam’s tally when he succeeded in the powerlifting 65kg category.
Swimmer Pham Anh Tu finished the men’s 400m freestyle in 5 minutes and 37.82 seconds, ranking first. Vo Huynh Anh Khoa won two golds when he was the first to cross the finishing line in the men’s 100m butterfly and 400m freestyle with respective results of 1 minute and 06.18 seconds, and 4 minutes and 55.7 seconds. By 5:30 p.m., Vietnam ranked fourth in the medal standings with 24 gold, 24 silver, and 24 bronze medals, following Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia.-VNA
