Lang Son (VNA) – Authorities of the northern borderprovince of Lang Son take promotion as an important work to develop the localtourism and have paid great attention to the popularisation of its images tothe people both inside and outside the country, according to insiders.
They have worked out many plans and programmes to developtourism into a spearhead economic sector. Tourist attractions in the provincehave been broadcast through various channels, and events bearing its hallmarks heldon a regular basis with a view to make them known to potential visitors.
Director of the Lang Son Tourism Promotion InformationCentre Tran Thi Bich Hanh revealed that since 2018, the centre has publishedand republished over 10,000 products, providing useful information on festivalsand community-based tourism activities in various localities in the province.
Tourism promotion has also been intensified throughelectronic networks. Many websites have been set up, attracting tens ofthousands of visits. It is noteworthy that in early March this year, a tourismportal at //langsontourism.com.vn and a smart tourism application on mobile phones started its operation.
Besides, provincial tourism authorities have also joinedhands with others to conduct many programmes to explore new destinations andhold various symposiums, providing a deeper look into potential of theprovince. They have taken an active part in tourism trade fairs to look forpartners, both foreign and domestic.
As a result, the number of tourists to Lang Son in the firstfive months of this year topped 1.5 million, marking an increase of 8.3 percentyear on year. Of the total, foreign visitors numbered 187,400. Tourism revenuein the period under review amounted to 761 billion VND (over 32.5 million USD),an increase of nearly 60 percent year on year.-VNA
