Official lauds Vietnam Business Forum’s contributions to nation

Hanoi (VNA) – Head of the Party Central Committee’sEconomic Commission Nguyen Van Binh has lauded Vietnam Business Forum (VBF) forits contributions to Vietnam, especially policy recommendations and sharing ofexperience in economic development and energy in particular.

During a reception in Hanoi on June 25 for the Power andEnergy Sub-Working Group led by VBF Co-Chair Virginia Foote, Binh expressedreadiness to listen to VBF’s suggestions regarding policymaking in energydevelopment.

Affirming Vietnam’s strategic priority for sustainableenergy development, Binh vowed to offer all possible support to multinationalcorporations and private sector at home and abroad to join Vietnam’s cleanenergy market.

He said the sub-working group and VBF’s discussion resultsand recommendations will provide important reference for the Vietnamese Partyand Government leaders to decide on national energy strategies and policies.

Foote, for her part, updated her host on the implementationof the VBF’s recommendations since its conference in late 2018 and talked aboutits new suggestions.

The two sides compared notes on the purchase of clean energyin countries and the purchase and production of clean energy in Vietnam.

The VBF offered recommendations on policies and legalframeworks to remove obstacles and develop the market for clean and renewableenergy in Vietnam, including wind, solar and biomass energy.

It also suggested energy saving solutions and ways toenhance the private sector’s involvement in the field.-VNA
