Officials hail Vietnam-Russia cooperation in national defence-security

Nikolai Patrushev, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.
Giang stressedthat traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership betweenVietnam and Russia are growing fruitfully in all areas, including national defence-security. Healso spoke highly of the increasingly effective and positive cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence and the Security Council of the Russian Federation over the past years. Patrushev,for his part, highlighted national defence-security cooperation as one of the importantpillars in the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership, contributing to peaceand stability in Asia-Pacific.

Heexpressed his belief that the bilateral long-standing friendship and comprehensivestrategic partnership will be further deepened in the near future and reap achievements, especially in national defence in line with a Memorandum of Understanding signedbetween the Vietnamese and Russian defence ministries in 2013. In themorning of the same day, the Russian delegation also held a working session withthe Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security to discuss and deploy the implementation ofbilateral cooperation agreements./.
The Vietnamese community in Russia is mourning the passing of a great friend of Vietnam, Irina Petrovna Karmanova, who was former General Secretary of the Russia - Vietnam Friendship Association.

During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
The ministry has instructed Vietnamese representative agencies in Israel, Iran, as well as those in neighbouring countries, to closely monitor the situation and request local authorities to ensure absolute safety for Vietnamese citizens living, studying, and working in high-risk areas.
