One new imported COVID-19 case reported on Dec 19

A 40-year-old Turkish woman became Vietnam’s only new COVID-19 case over the last 24 hours, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Hanoi(VNA) – A 40-year-old Turkish woman became Vietnam’s only new COVID-19 case overthe last 24 hours, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19Prevention and Control.

Thenew case brought the national tally of COVID-19 to 1,411, the committeereported.

Thenew patient arrived at Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport from Turkey onDecember 17 and was immediately put into quarantine in the capital city.

Shetested positive for the novel coronavirus and sent to the NationalHospital for Tropical Diseases No.2 for treatment on December 19.

On thesame day, three more COVID-19 patients were given the all clear, raising thetotal recoveries to 1,269. The fatalities remain at 35.

Amongpatients still under treatment, ten have tested negative for the virus once,six twice and four thrice.

Atotal of 16,954 people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients or arrivedfrom pandemic-hit areas are being quarantined nationwide, with 209 athospitals, 15,428 at State-designated facilities and 1,317 at home or theiraccommodations.

TheHealth Ministry has urged the people to strictly follow the 5K motto: Khautrang (Face masks) – Khu khuan (Disinfection) – Khoang cach (Keeping distance)- Khong tap trung dong nguoi (No gathering) – Khai bao y te (Healthdeclaration) in order to prevent COVID-19 transmission./.
