Pangolin released into the wild in Binh Phuoc

A sunda pangolin (Manis Javanica) weighing 9kg, an endangered species, was released into the wild in the southern central province of Binh Phuoc by forest rangers on July 5.

Binh Phuoc (VNA) – A sunda pangolin (Manis Javanica) weighing 9kg, an endangered species, was released into the wild in the southern central province of Binh Phuoc by forest rangers on July 5. The pangolin was discovered in a rubber plantation by a group of workers of Binh Phuoc Rubber Ltd. Co. They caught the animal and handed it over to the forest ranger force of Dong Phu district.
After being taken care of at the forest rangers' facility, the pangolin's health was stable and released to the natural environment in accordance with regulations. Pangolins are the most trafficked animal in the world. Vietnam is home to two pangolin species, the sunda pangolin and the Chinese pangolin (manis pentadactyla), both listed as Critically Endangered on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)’s Red List. They are facing the threat of extinction./.
