Entitled 54...Visions of Vietnam,the exhibition, which opened on June 25, showcases monochrome and colourphotos taken since 1980. They capture portraits and the dailyactivities of the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam.
A similarexhibition was held last year in the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of FineArts as a part of the Vietnam - France celebration of culturalactivities.
Laval was born in 1973 in France. He first came toVietnam in 1995. Entranced by the people and landscape, he has devoted18 years to documenting the lives of ethnic minority people.
Hiswork introduces the beauty of ethnic people and their diversifiedcultures to the world and provides a visual document for ethnologists.
Laval'sworks in black and white reflect the energy and delight of a youngphotographer discovering an intriguing, exotic world, said SuzanneLecht, Director of the Art Vietnam Gallery.

More than 60 of Laval's works were recently displayed at the Hue Festival.
Vuongis a highly respected veteran photographer from Hanoi who has dedicatedhis entire life to taking photos of the country and people, mainly incolour.
The 95-year-old photographer still goes out on hisbicycle early every morning to capture the day as well as secret momentsof the capital city.
He has travelled throughout the country tirelessly, collecting an archive of memories that show how life is rapidly changing.
Hisworks have been exhibited in many European and Asian countries. InVietnam, they are displayed at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi.-VNA
