Party Central Committee asks to implement resolution productively

Hanoi (VNA) – The closing session of the7th plenary meeting of the 12thCentral Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) was held on May 12 under the chair by Politburo member and President TranDai Quang.

Politburo member Pham Minh Chinh, Secretary of the CPV Central Committee (CPVCC)and Chairman of the CPVCC’s Organisation Commission, presented the Politburo’sreport on acquiring and explaining opinions of the CPVCC on the project“building a contingent of cadres at all levels, especially strategic level,with sufficient virtue, capacity and prestige on par with their assigned tasks”.

Participants also heard the Politburo’s reports on acquiring and explaining opinionsof the CPVCC on the projects on salary reform for officials, public servants,the armed forces and labourers working in enterprises; and social insurancepolicy reform.

After examiningand discussing the reports, proposals and projects of the Politburo, the CPVCC decided to adopt major contents of Resolutionson building a contingent of cadres at all levels,especially strategic level, with sufficient virtue, capacity and prestige onpar with their assigned tasks; salary reform for officials, public servants,the armed forces and labourers working in enterprises; and social insurancepolicy reform.

The Politburo was assigned to complete, issue and organise the implementationof the resolutions.
The 7th session of the CPVCC took place from May 7-12 in Hanoi. Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong delivered the opening and closing speech of the session. 
In a statement released on May 12, the CPVCC said during the session, the CPVCC considered, discussed and highly agreedthe report reviewing the leadership and guidance of the Politburo and the Secretariatin 2017.

They also reached consensus on the reports on theimportant works made by the Politburo since the 6th plenary session of the 12th CPVCC; and on inspection, supervisionand discipline in the Party; as well as the implementation of tasks of the PCC’sInspection Commission and inspection committees at all levels in 2017.

The CPVCC agreed, through voting, to let Tran Quoc Vuong, Politburo member,permanent member of the Secretariat and Chairman of the CPVCC InspectionCommission, of the 12th tenure, to leave the posts of member and chairman ofthe CPVCC Inspection Commission of the 12th tenure. 

The CPVCC elected Tran Cam Tu, CPVCC member andStanding Vice Chairman of the CPVCC Inspection Commission, the 12th tenure, asChairman of the CPVCC Inspection Commission, the 12th tenure.  Meanwhile, Hoang Van Tra, Vice Secretary ofthe Party Committee, Chairman of the People’s Committee and head of theNational Assembly deputies, the 14th tenure, of Phu Yen province was elected tothe CPVCC Inspection Commission, the 12th tenure.

The CPVCC elected two additional members of the 12th tenure Secretariat,including Tran Thanh Man, CPVCC member and President of the Vietnam FatherlandFront Central Committee; and Tran Cam Tu, CPVCC member and Chairman of the CPVCCInspection Commission, the 12th tenure.

The CPVCC considered and agreed to expel Dinh La Thang, CPVCCmember and deputy head of the CPVCC Economics Commission, from the Party.

The CPVCC called on the whole Party, the entire people andarmy to strengthen solidarity and promote the achieved results, while strivingto overcome all difficulties and challenges, towards firmly defending theindependence and territorial sovereignty, ensuring national security, andsuccessfully implementing the objectives and tasks set for the 2018-2019 periodand subsequent years and the resolution adopted at the seventh meeting of the12th CPVCC.-VNA
