Hanoi (VNA) – Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong had a meeting withheads of Vietnam’s overseas representative offices during the 2017-2020 tenurein Hanoi on July 12.
At the meeting, the Party leader described theambassadors and consul generals as bridges of friendship and cooperationbetween Vietnam and foreign countries, serving national building and defence.
He said representative offices must reflect theimage of Vietnam, thus contributing to promoting culture, land and people ofVietnam abroad and motivating foreign countries to cooperate with Vietnam.
In reply, the diplomats promised to make all-outefforts to complete their assigned tasks and accelerate the implementation ofcooperation agreements Vietnam signed, helping propel friendship andcooperation between Vietnam and other countries and partners.
They pledged to make outstanding performance inprotecting overseas Vietnamese, national sovereignty and the country’sinterests while contributing to peace, solidarity, cooperation and developmentin regions and the world at large.-VNA
