Hanoi (VNA) – Party General Secretary To Lam has called for a strategic transformation in the mindset, methods, and approaches of the ideological and public outreach work, laying stress on the need to modernise the effort to meet the demand of the national development in the new era.

Presiding over a working session with the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education, and Mass Mobilisation in Hanoi on June 11, the Party chief praised the commission for its swift consolidation and effective performance since its merger.

He underscored the strategic significance of information, education, and mass mobilisation work, describing it as an indispensable bridge between the Party and people, serving as a driving force to promote the great national solidarity. He affirmed that merging the Commission for Information and Education and the Commission for Mass Mobilisation is not only a structural change but a strategic realignment designed to harness the combined strength of ideological education and mobilisation which is critical to unifying thought and action across the Party, people, and armed forces.

Lam emphasised the importance of building a contingent of information, education and mass mobilisation cadres who are truly loyal warriors on the ideological front and mass mobilisation of the Party. They must be united, creative, and dedicated to serving the Fatherland and people, with firm political mettle and pure morality. Along with closely following reality and maintaining close ties with the people, they must set good examples, always improve thinking, speaking and writing skills and ability to access and use technology, while upholding the core values of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology.

Looking ahead, he ordered the commission to review and complete its work laid out at the 13th National Party Congress. Besides, it must continue to supplement and perfect working regulations and process, harmonising ideological and mobilisation work in the new organisational model.

The Party chief requested high concentration grasping the situation of the people and public opinion related to the 14th National Party Congress, effectively organise the collection of the people's opinions on the draft documents of the congress. In the meantime, the commission must work to keep a close watch on and counter incorrect and hostile narratives to safeguard the ideological foundation of the Party before, during and after the congress.

♍ He also called for a comprehensive and well-resourced communications strategy, including the effective operation of the congress’s media centre.

Emphasising that ideological work must break away from outdated formats, the Party leader advocated for fewer, more impactful conferences providing insights into major resolutions, greater application of digital technologies to bring the Party’s directives directly into the hearts and minds of Party members and citizens alike.

The commission must make efforts to make all social strata understand the policies on streamlining and reorganising the political apparatus, merging administrative units, amending the 2013 Constitution, and perfecting the legal institution system, he said.

He further tasked the commission with developing a sharp, politically grounded response team to produce persuasive educational content, highlighting it must continue to propose major policies on culture, art, science-technology, health care, and many more, ensuring that culture will become an intrinsic strength that propel the nation’s rapid and sustainable development.

Since its merger, the commission has decisively implemented structural reorganisation and streamlining, reducing department-level units from 31 to 17, and cutting office-level units from 33 to 7 establishments.

𒊎 Furthermore, it has penned 17 major policy proposals on ideological and public affairs, while organising over 30 conferences and seminars to defend the Party’s ideological foundation and combat hostile narratives./.
