Hanoi (VNA) – General Secretary of the Communist Party of VietnamNguyen Phu Trong on the night of February 15 (the last day of the last lunarmonth) visited and extended Tet (Lunar New Year) greetings to Hanoi’s Party Committee,authorities and people.

Talking to the city leaders, the Party chief praised the city for the achievements it has made over the past year, wishing that Hanoi will further develop and reap even greater attainments,deserving a capital of multi-thousand-year civilization, a heroic city and theheart of the nation.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, he also wished all Hanoi residents andtheir families a new year of good health, happiness and prosperity.

Later, Party General Secretary Trong and leaders of Hanoi offered incense atthe Statue of King Ly Thai To to pay tribute to the King, other national ancestorsand martyrs who made every effort to construct and defence the nation.

The Party chief also offered incense at Ngoc Son Temple and walked around HoanKiem Lake to share New Year joys with people of all strata in the capital city.He extended the best wishes to workers of the Hanoi Green Tree and ParkCompany, older people and children who were present here to welcome the NewYear.-VNA
