Hanoi (VNA) – Party General Secr💧etary Nguyen Phu Trong on January 30 held a reception for a delegation from the Overseas Vietnamese (OV) community, who returned home to attend the “Xuan qu🅷e huong” (Homeland Spring) programme.

On behalf of the Party and Government, General Secretary Trong extended his warmest Tet (Lunar New Year) greetings to the OV community, while applauding their contributions to national development, including their recommendations for the 12th National Party Congress.
The Party and Government always consider the OV community an integral part of the nation, he confirmed, hoping that they will enhance solidarity, treasure traditional cultural identity and serve as a bridge to connect Vietnam and their host countries. Informing the overseas Vietnamese about the outstanding results of the 12th National Party Congress, the General Secretary said the Party and Government will work to comprehensively foster reforms, industrialisation and the modernisation process and international integration; protect national interests and strengthen national solidarity; while lifting Vietnam’s position in the international arena.
The OV community expressed their delight at the country’s development and delivered their congratulations on the success of the Party Congress. They pledged to make concerted efforts to build a solid community and hoped that the Party and Government will continue their support while creating favourable conditions for them to invest in their homeland and contribute to the country’s development.-VNA
