Party official praises IMF chief representative’s contributions

During themeeting in Hanoi on July 27 with Sanjay Kalra, who is going to finishhis tenure of working in Vietnam, Hue spoke highly of the IMF official’sclose cooperation, especially his precious assistance and advice in thepast four years, contributing to promoting ties between Vietnam and theIMF.
Hue hoped the IMF would continueincreasing cooperation, especially in research and assessment with frankviews, to assist in the Economic Commission’s consultative and researchtasks.
He wished Kalra, in his new position,would continue to support Vietnam and foster the cooperation between thecommission and the IMF.
At the meeting, Kalraemphasised that maintaining stabilising the macro-economy is vital andthat the leadership of the Party is very important, including thecommission’s consultative role.-VNA
Nghia affirmed that this is a milestone of special significance, affirming and honouring the the Vietnamese revolutionary press’s glorious tradition of 100 years of serving the revolutionary cause of the Party, serving the Fatherland, and serving the people.

During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
