Philippine bus accident leaves 19 dead, 25 injured

At least 19 were killed and 25 others were injured in a bus crash on March 20 in Sablayan, 195km to the south of the Philippine capital city of Manila.

Hanoi (VNA) - At least 19 were killed and 25 others were injured in a bus crash onMarch 20 in Sablayan, 195km to the south of the Philippine capital city ofManila.

Police and disasterofficials said the crash occurred at around 21:30 (local time) in San Agustin,a village in Sablayan town.

It was reportedthat the bus, bound for Manila from San Jose, lost its brake on a mountainousarea and fell off a 15m cliff.

The victims werebrought to local hospitals, with thirteen bodies remaining unidentified.

Police said thedriver was among those died at scene. The cause of the accident is underinvestigation.-VNA
