Photo contest on conservation, sustainable use of wetlands calls for entries

A photo contest highlighting the importance of conserving and sustainably using Vietnamese wetlands was launched on December 21 by the centre for environment and resources communications under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA).

Hanoi (VNA) – A photo contest highlighting the importance ofconserving and sustainably using Vietnamese wetlands was launched on December21 by the centre for environment and resources communications under theMinistry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Vietnam Association ofPhotographic Artists (VAPA).

Entries can be sent to the organisers from now until May 31,2022. The awards ceremony is expected to be held in July 2022. Information on the contest is available at //tainguyenmoitruong.gov.vn and //vapa.org.vn/vapa/

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Deputy Director of thecentre Vu Minh Ly said that the conservation and sustainable development ofVietnam's wetlands rich in resources and biodiversity has always been considered one of the sustainable development goals by the Vietnamese Party and State.

According to him, to make the work effective and create a positivechange in the community, it is necessary to increase communication activities, with the contest as an example,  to raise publicawareness of conservation and sustainable development of wetlands in ecologicalregions of Vietnam.

The contest aims to create a playground, and an opportunity forall Vietnamese people of all ages, especially young people, to show off theirtalents and gain more knowledge and useful information about the country’swetlands, he added./.
