Phu Tho invests 5.8 trillion VND to develop tourism

The northern province of Phu Tho will spend over 5.8 trillion VND (272.6 million USD) developing its tourism sector from now until 2020, to turn the sector into the province’s economic spearhead industry.

It plans to raise the investment to around 13 trillion VND (611 million USD) by 2030.

The money will be poured into upgrading and putting into operationfive key tourism facilities by 2020, including the national Hung KingsTemple tourism complex, the ecotourism site of Xuan Son National Park,the Thanh Thuy Hot Mineral Water Mine, and Van Lang and Bach Hac-Ben Gottourism areas.

Other tourism development projects will be implemented in the 2021-2030 period.

The province will step up investment in building vocational trainingsystems for the tourism sector to ensure the supply of qualified tourismworkers as well as expanding international cooperation in training andresearch.

It will also concentrate on building uniquetourism products in combination with the Hung Kings Temple Festival andtours to local relic sites.

The province hopes to attract6,000 international arrivals and 7.25 million domestic tourists nextyear, and 10,000 foreign tourists and 8.2 million local visitors by2020.

The tourism sector is expected to earn over 564billion VND (26.5 million USD) in revenue by 2015 and around 1.11trillion VND (52.17 million USD) by 2020.-VNA
