Hanoi (VNA) - The Prꩲime Minister has entrusted the Ministry of Finance to supply more than🐷 667 tonnes of rice from national reserves for Phu Yen and Tuyen Quang provinces to support their residents during the between-crop period.
Accordingly, the central province of Phu Yen will receive 228 tonnes while the northern mountainous province of Tuyen Quang will get 439 tonnes.
The Prime Minister has also urged the People’s Committees of the two localities to promptly distribute the rice for those really in need.-VNA
The Prime Minister has requested the Ministry of Finance to provide 1,174 tonnes of rice aid for poor people in northern Dien Bien province who are suffering from food shortages in the between-crop period.
The Government will assist residents facing food shortage during between-crop period in northern Cao Bang province with 430 tonnes of rice from the national reserve.
The central province of Ninh Thuan is actively distributing more than 836 tonnes of rice as aid from the Government intended to help local poor people overcome the current between-crop food shortage.
The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) and the Ministry of Finance have submitted a proposal to the Prime Minister to ask for rice supply to drought-stricken localities.
Disadvantaged residents of northern Tuyen Quang, and central Nghe An provinces will receive almost 3,900 tonnes of rice from the national reserves as the Government’s assistance in Tet holiday.
