Pilgrims flock to La Vang Pilgrimage Festival

The 31stLa Vang Pilgrimage Festival took place in Hai Phu commune, Hai Lang district, the central province of Quang Tri from August 13-15, drawing the participation of about 100,000 parishioners, along with domestic and foreign visitors.

Quang Tri (VNA) – The 31st La Vang Pilgrimage Festival took place inHai Phu commune, Hai Lang district, the central province of Quang Tri fromAugust 13-15, drawing the participation of about 100,000 parishioners, alongwith domestic and foreign visitors.

The eventfeatured a range of religious activities and Catholic services, includingprayers and a ritual procession. 

According tothe festival’s organising board, Quang Tri province mobilised competent forcesat venues which hosted activities of the festival to ensure safety for theparticipants.

La Vang parishalso coordinated with parishes from Dong Ha city of Quang Tri province to LangCo parish in central Thua Thien-Hue province to guarantee security, safety andenvironmental hygiene of the festival.

The annualfestival is held to commemorate a vision of the Blessed Virgin Mary seen byseveral Vietnamese Catholics.-VNA

🌳 Vietnamese culture takes centre stage in Korean city

♍ Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee
