Plan International channels more efforts to Quang Ngai

A memorandum💫 of understanding to this effect was inked on August 20 by Dinh Thi Loan, Vice Chair෴woman of the Quang Ngai People’s Committee and Glenn Gibeny, Plan Country Director in Vietnam .

Plan-funded programmes and projects will focus on developing both the material and spiritual wellbeing of children and women living in difficult circumstances within the province, said Gl✨enn Gibeny.

On this occasion, the two sides reviewed the implem🏅entation of programmes and ജprojects funded by the organisation between 2000 and 2009.

During the reviewed periodඣ, Plan ha🍒s helped Quang Ngai carry out ten programmes and projects worth a total of 160 billion VND.

These included a project to support socio-economic development in ten communes in Tu Nghia, Nghia Hanh, Son Tinh, Son Ha and Ba To districts, a project on fresh water and environmental hygiene in 16 communes in Nghia Hanh and Son Tinh districts, and one to develop the material and spiritual life for children in mountainous communes.

Glenn Gibeny said all the projects are showing their effectiveness and attributed the achievements to efforts of the provincial People’s Committee and people in the locality.

Vice Chairwoman Loan spoke highly o🔯f Plan’s support for the elimination of hunger and poverty and the improvement of the standard of living of local people in target localities.
