Plan International to help poor kids in Kon Tum

Plan International Vietnam will continue to assist the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum , with a project to improve living conditions for local poor children in the 2012-2017 period.

Glenn Gibney, General Director of Plan International Vietnam on Nov. 18worked with provincial leaders to discuss implementation of thisproject.

The project will help improve educationalinfrastructure and nutritional care for children, especially children inage of 0-4 in the two districts of Konplong and Kon Ray, throughbuilding schools and training teachers in child care.

From 2009-2011, Plan International Vietnam engaged in emergency reliefactivities in these districts in order to support the localities inovercoming the consequences of storms in 2009 and 2010./.

Russian ൩scholar with lifelong dedication to Vietnam commemorated

Dr. Kobelev, born in 1938 in Ulyanovsk, was among the first Soviet scholars to specialise in Vietnam. As a former TASS correspondent during the war in Vietnam, he worked closely with Vietnamese institutions and later helped found Russia’s Centre for Vietnamese and ASEAN Studies.
