PM lands in Switzerland, starting trip to attend WEF Annual Meeting 2024
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his spouse, and the high-ranking delegation of Vietnam arrived in Zurich, Switzerland, on January 16 morning (local time), starting a trip to attend the 54th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.

Zurich (VNA)ꦡ – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh,his spouse, and the high-ranking delegation of Vietnam arrived in Zurich,Switzerland, on January 16 morning (local time), starting a trip to attend the54th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.
At the airport, the Government leader and his entourage were welcomed byVietnamese Ambassador to Switzerland Phung The Long, Ambassador Le Thi TuyetMai – head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam in Geneva, the staff of theVietnamese Embassy and Permanent Mission, and Vietnamese people in the Europeancountry.
During the trip, PM Chinh is scheduled to chair,attend, and deliver remarks at several events of the WEF Annual Meeting 2024,including a seminar on investment attraction in the semiconductor industry, theWEF Country Strategic Dialogue on Vietnam, a policy dialogue, a seminar onpromoting new growth drivers in the country, and a discussion on promoting therole of global cooperation in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
On this occasion, he will meet with WEF Founder and ExecutiveChairman Prof. Klaus Schwab, and engage in bilateral meetings with leaders ofsome countries, international organisations, and WEF member businesses. He willalso address a seminar on Switzerland’s experience in and model of developinginternational financial centres, and receive executives of some leadingenterprises of Switzerland.
PM Chinh’s participation in numerous activitiesat the WEF Annual Meeting 2024 demonstrates Vietnam’s active and responsiblecontributions to the event, thereby helping the international community learnmore about the country’s potential, cooperation opportunities, role, andstature in the world so as to maximise resources fornational development, and also enhancing cooperation with Switzerland,particularly in finance - banking./.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s participation at the 54th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF-54) in Davos, Switzerland from January 16-18 will provide a chance for Vietnam to highlight ideas, commitment and solutions to realise the country’s strategy on sustainable socio-economic development and international integration, according to Ambassador Le Thi Tuyet Mai, head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, WTO and other international organisations in Geneva.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his spouse and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation left Hanoi on January 16 early morning for attendance at the 54th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF-54) in Davos, Switzerland and official visits to Hungary and Romania from January 16-23.
Nghia affirmed that this is a milestone of special significance, affirming and honouring the the Vietnamese revolutionary press’s glorious tradition of 100 years of serving the revolutionary cause of the Party, serving the Fatherland, and serving the people.

During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
