Hanoi (VNA) - Prime Minister Nguyen XuanPhuc and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation concluded a five-day officialvisit to Japan on June 8.
Before leaving Japan, the PM visited the headquartersof the Nidec-Shimpo Corporation of Nidec Group – a world’s leading hi-techcompany that started operation in 1973.
Nidec has carried out investment activities inVietnam’s southern metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City since 1998 with sevenprojects worth nearly 800 million USD, contributing to the city’ssocio-economic development over the past 20 years.
The group is studying an investment project ofabout 500 million USD at Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park, which is expected to generatetens of thousands of jobs and bring in huge export turnover.
The PM affirmed that the Vietnamese Governmentand the capital of Hanoi will create the best conditions for foreign investors,including Nidec, to operate effectively in Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park.
He praised Nidec’s plan to build a research anddevelopment centre in HCM City and suggested establishing a similar one inHanoi to enhance cooperation in training and scientific research withVietnamese universities.
Nidec President and CEO Shigenobu Nagamorithanked the Vietnamese government and particularly Prime Minister Nguyen XuanPhuc and Vietnamese localities for supporting the group’s operation in thecountry.
He hoped to receive more assistance wheninvesting in Hanoi.
The PM later met with leaders from theJapan-Vietnam Friendship Association (JVFA)’s chapters in Osaka, Hyogo, andNara prefectures and Sakai city.
At the meetings, Phuc recognised the chapters’active contributions to the enhancement of people-to-people and culturalexchanges between the two countries.
He affirmed that the Vietnamese government attaches importance to developingties with Japanese localities and provides optimal conditions for Japanesebusinesses to invest in the country.
Leaders of the JVFA chapters said their organisations will closely coordinatewith Vietnam in hosting activities in celebration of the 45th foundinganniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties in Osaka and Kansai regionsin 2018.
