TheHa Tinh langur (Trachypithecus hatinhensis) is an endangered primatespecies, according to the International Union for Conservation of Natureand Vietnam's red list.

The woodsmen who found 60 of thelangurs in the province's Thach Hoa Commune in Tuyen Hoa District helpeddepartment staff identify the animals.

The department educated surrounding communities on how to protect the langurs, which often wander near residential areas.

Alsoin Quang Binh Province, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park authoritieshave announced a new species of Ceylon caecilian (Ichthyophisglutinosus) found in the park.

The amphibian lives on rottenforest floors near rocky streams, and can be found near Cha Lo Villagein the province's Minh Hoa district.

With the discovery of the new caecilian species, researchers have recorded the existence of 51 amphibian species in the park.-VNA
