Pottery paintings on APEC leaders to be on display

An exhibition showcasing portraits of 21 APEC economies’ leaders made from pottery will be organised at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, Hanoi, from November 18-21.

– An exhibition showcasing portraits of 21 APEC economies’leaders made from pottery will be organised at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum,Hanoi, from November 18-21.

Theexhibition is expected to showcase Dong Nai pottery paintings as well as photoscapturing several pottery paintings gifts which were presented to APEC leadersduring the freshly-concluded APEC Economic Leaders’ Week by Prime MinisterNguyen Xuan Phuc.

Portraitsof late President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap, Party General SecretaryNguyen Phu Trong, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and National Assembly Chairwoman NguyenThi Kim Ngan will be exhibited as well.

Thepaintings were made during 2016-2017 by a group of artists and artisans fromthe southern province of Dong Nai.

Alongwith those presented to several APEC leaders, the remaining will be sentthrough embassies of countries and territories in Vietnam.

AfterHanoi, the exhibition will be held in Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City.

Vietnamis the host of the APEC Year 2017, with the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week incentral Da Nang city from November 6-11 the highlight.

Establishedin 1989, APEC comprises Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong (China),Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, PapuaNew Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand,the US, and Vietnam.-VNA

𝕴 Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee. The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
