President hands over appointment decisions to new Deputy PM, Public Security Minister

Hanoi (VNA) – President To Lam on June 6 chaired a ceremony to announce and present appointment decisions to the new Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security for the 2021 – 2026 tenure.

Authorised by the President, Chairman of the Presidential Office Le Khanh Hai announced the President’s decisions on the appointment of Le Thanh Long as the Deputy PM and Sen. Lt. Gen. Luong Tam Quang as Minister of Public Security.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Party and State leaders presented flowers to congratulate Long and Quang.

Addressing the ceremony, President Lam extended his congratulations to the officials, saying the appointment demonstrated the confidence and interest of the Party, the State and people in the Government, the judicial sector and the public security force, as well as their acknowledgement of Long’s and Quang’s contributions over the past years.

Pointing to both advantages and challenges to the cause of national construction and defence, the President asked the officials to carry forward the revolutionary tradition, stay absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland and the people, keep studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality and lifestyle, and try to excellently complete all assigned tasks.

Speaking at the event, Long promised to make all-out efforts to overcome difficulties in order to complete assigned tasks, contributing to the country’s socio-economic development, national defence and security, and international integration.

The Deputy PM also noted his 🗹hope for more attention and support from leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), and ministries, agencies, Party Committe𒁏es and administrations at all levels, and localities./.
