Buenos Aires (VNA) – President Ho Chi Minh went down in history as a distinguished politician of the international communist movement and a great leader of the Vietnamese people, and his thoughts are still relevant today, opined Argentinian journalist Gaston Fiorda.

In a recent interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency on the occasion of the 55th death anniversary of the Vietnamese leader (September 2, 1969 - 2024) and 55 years of implementing his testament, Fiorda, who has spent years studying Vietnam’s history, said that throughout his revolutionary career in the 20th century, Ho Chi Minh, a talented leader and a world-level intellectual, left extremely valuable legacies for Vietnam and progressive people around the globe.

He held that the President’s progressive ideology is still invaluable nowadays, remaining a source of support for the Vietnamese people and others worldwide to fight for peace, national independence, freedom, and happiness.

What the leader left holds great and profound significance, creating a solid foundation for national safeguarding, post-war recovery, reform, door opening, socio-economic development, and strong international integration that Vietnam has been doing. He nurtured and inspired the country’s aspiration for prosperity, happiness, and extensive integration into the world, Fiorda continued.

Commenting on Vietnam’s achievements after nearly 40 years of Doi moi (Renewal), the journalist emphasised that the country has emerged into the top four economies in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and the top 40 in the world. Its international trade is among the 20 biggest globally. The Vietnamese economy is also assessed as dynamic and among the most open in the world.

Particularly, Vietnam has obtained many achievements in human development, notably poverty reduction with millions of people lifted out of poverty, people’s better access to social housing, health care and education, along with ensured food security, according to Fiorda.

🌟 He added that the praiseworthy attainments and changes of Vietnam are attributable to the legacies of President Ho Chi Minh as well as the clear-sighted and skillful leadership by generations of leaders of the Communist Party of Vietnam./.
