Moscow (VNA) – President Tran Dai Quang had a meeting with leader of theCommunist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF) Gennady Zyuganov in Moscow onJune 29 as part of his ongoing official visit to Russia.
Highlyvaluing cooperation between the KPRF and the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV),President Quang expressed his belief that with its prestige and experience, theKPRF will continue to promote its role as an important political force ofRussia to contribute to national construction and development.
Thewarm and trustworthy relationship between Vietnam and the former Soviet Union hasbeen tested by time and history, he said.
Theleader noted that the Vietnamese Party, State and people always keep in mind andtreasure sentiments and valuable support of Russian communists and people toVietnam during its struggle for national liberation as well as the presentcause of national defence and construction.
Vietnamwishes to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia in a moreeffective and pragmatic fashion, he emphasised.
PresidentQuang urged the two parties to further enhance political ties and maintain delegationexchanges in order to increase mutual understanding and trust, while organisingexchange programmes between young Party members to educate them about thetraditional cooperation between the two parties.
Laterthe same day, President Tran Dai Quang met with Sidelnikov Nikolai Ivanovich, amember of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and experts of the nationalscientific research institute for medicines and essential oils.
Hepraised the experts’ support to Vietnamese officials and doctors in protectingthe body of President Ho Chi Minh over the past years.
Hecalled on the Russian experts to continue assisting the management board ofPresident Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum through scientific research, technologicaltransfer and training of health workers and technicians in order to better protectPresident Ho Chi Minh’s corpse.-VNA
