Quang Binh enhances border defence-security cooperation with Lao province

Quang Binh (VNA) – Delegations of the central border province of Quang Binh and Laos’Khammouane province on November 22 held talks and inked a comprehensivefriendship cooperation agreement between the two localities.
At the meeting in Quang Binh’s Dong Hoi city,the delegations briefed each other on the implementation by each side of thememorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two provinces. Accordingly, QuangBinh and Khammouane have maintained sound cooperation in border security-orderas well as the annual cross-talk mechanism between local authorities andcompetent agencies.
On the occasion, heads of the delegations signedthe MoU for 2019, which demonstrates the high consensus in comprehensivecooperation in the spirit of the special friendship and solidarity between theCommunist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, and thepeople of the two nations as well as the two localities.
The two sides also vowed to continue close,regular and effective collaboration between their authorities, managementagencies and border guards.
They agreed to bolster cooperation in bordergate development, contributing to the socio-economic growth in the border area,along with activities in tourism and transport, among others.
Quang Binh and Khammouane provinces over theyears have handed over 53 dossiers and blueprints in the building of bordermarkers to each other and signed documents on the protection of the markersbetween the two provinces.-VNA
The People’s Committee of the central province of Quang Binh held a meeting on August 17 to review the implementation of the Ordinance on the Border Guard over the last two decades.
