Quang Binh province ready to welcome tourists during summer peak

Besides improving service quality, catering service providers in Quang Binh have signed commitments regarding price transparency and food safety regulations.

Quang Binh (VNA) – The central province of Quang Binh has prepared optimal conditions to host visitors during the peak tourism season, eyeing 5.5 – 6 million tourist arrivals this year.

At the Chay River-Dark Cave tourist area (Phong Nha-Ke Bang Tourism Centre), workers are putting final touches on renovating the riverside path and constructing colourful riverside huts. Staff have been trained in restaurant operations and safety procedures to provide visitors with the best possible experience.

Manager of the tourist area Nguyen Manh Hung said that the facility has invested in additional equipment including water bicycles, surfboards, SUPs, headlamps, zipline harnesses, and other necessary safety equipment in adventure tourism activities.

The Phong Nha-Ke Bang Tourism Centre has strengthened its communications work and developed new tours. Starting this tourism season, a new route connecting Phong Nha Cave and Tien Son Cave with the Chay River-Dark Cave will be available, allowing tourists to explores the cases, while enjoying the scenery along the Son River and Chay River-Dark Cave.

According to Director of the centre Hoang Minh Thang, during the upcoming holiday, the Chay River-Dark Cave, Mooc Spring, Phong Nha Cave, and Tien Son Cave are expected to welcome over 60,000 visitors. To better serve tourists, the centre has renovated infrastructure, upgraded boat docks, service buildings, and facilities within Phong Nha and Tien Son caves, along with creating additional check-in points that highlight the connection between rivers and other scenic spots.

🧸 It has also worked to ensure price transparency and food safety, and coordinated with local authorities to maintain security at tourist sites and prevent any price gouging, Thang said.

Quang Binh currently has over 550 accommodation facilities with some 9,000 rooms, nearly 500 homestays, and nearly 3,000 food service businesses. Hotels and guesthouses in Phong Nha-Ke Bang town, Bo Trach district, and Dong Hoi city are already booked at about 90% capacity for the holiday period.

Besides improving service quality, catering service providers have signed commitments regarding price transparency and food safety regulations.

Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Dang Dong Ha said to develop tourism into a key economic sector, the department continues to implement comprehensive solutions such as outlining effective integrated planning, creating favourable conditions for investment attraction, addressing business difficulties, developing new products, and strengthening marketing and promotion.

Quang Binh is known as the "kingdom of caves” with nearly 400 caves of various sizes. In addition to exploring tourist sites in Phong Nha-Ke Bang, visitors can enjoy swimming, relaxing, and savouring seafood at Nhat Le, Bao Ninh, and Quang Phu beaches, as well as visiting historical and cultural sites such as General Vo Nguyen Giap's tomb, the 750-year-old Hoang Phuc Pagoda, and the Mother Goddess Lieu Hanh Temple./.
