Quang Ninh (VNA) - The 2019 cherryblossom – Yen Tu yellow ochna flower festival will open at the Yen Tu Truc Lamculture centre in Quang Ninh province’s Uong Bi city on March 9.
The annual festival will showcase about 100cherry blossom trees and 5,000 cherry blossom branches from Japan as well as200 Yen Tu yellow ochna flower trees. The trees will be displayed at the footof Yen Tu Mountain in Thuong Yen Cong ward.
The festival will have a wide range ofVietnamese and Japanese cultural activities and art performances. It will alsointroduce specialty products of the northern province and Japan. The festival willend on March 17.
Yen Tu yellow ochna trees normally bloom in thesecond lunar month, one month after the yellow ochna trees in the south.

An annual festival centring around buckwheat flowers, the iconic flower of the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang, and the unique cultural values of local ethnic groups will begin on November 23.
Visitors were attracted to Khon Kaen over the weekend to view a display of 100,000 flowers planted in Bueng Tung Sarng park, which is ready to host an international flower event.
The northern province of Quang Ninh enjoyed a bustling year with some 50 cultural, sports and tourism events and around 12.2 million visitors when it hosted the Visit Vietnam Year 2018.
As March comes, the northern mountainous province of Dien Bien is blanketed with white Ban flowers. It’s also the time for the annual festival named after the most beautiful flower in the region.
It is the first time that the country is to hold a G1-level tournament which is expected to lure more than 100 athletes of 15 countries and regions at Go Vap Gymnasium.
