Quang Ninh (VNA) – The northern coastal province of Quang Ninh, home to world heritage site Ha Long Bay, on April 10 announced plans to host 170 cultural, sport, and tourism events throughout the year to stimulate tourism, contributing to realising the locality’s 14% GRDP growth target for 2025.

Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Thanh Tung detailed at a regular press conference on the day that the extensive calendar includes 24 international, national, and provincial-level events and 146 local-level programmes.

Among the highlights will be the “Skywave Ha Long” art programme, expected to draw some 10,000 spectators from across the country. Quang Ninh will also host a sculpture creation camp with the participation of 150 sculptors and artist groups from both Vietnam and abroad.

The diverse lineup will feature hot air balloons, paragliding tours over Ha Long Bay, a national food festival, the Miss Sea Vietnam Global 2025 pageant, and the Art for Climate Festival Ha Long 2025.

Music enthusiasts can look forward to the Quang Ninh Super Fest, featuring performances of 20 domestic artists. Besides, the EDM International Music Fest will bring famous Vietnamese and foreign DJs.

Other notable events include the International Puppetry Festival, the International Circus Festival, and the International Hot Air Balloon Festival.

Particularly, the upcoming five-day break from April 30 to May 4 for the Reunification Day (April 30) and International Workers’ Day (May 1) will see Ha Long City host multiple special events, headlined by the Ha Long Carnival 2025, which is expected to draw more than 15,000 visitors.

According to Vice Chairman of the Ha Long city People’s Committee Nguyen Ngoc Son, performances at this year's carnival will be expressed through contemporary artistic language with mapping, laser shows, and cutting-edge technological effects, creating a festive atmosphere that keeps pace with global trends.

With meticulous preparations, Quang Ninh's 2025 cultural events promise to create a special appeal to residents and tourists alike, stimulating tourism demand. These initiatives directly support the province's goal of attracting 20 million visitors.

💝 Over the recent past, the locality has invested heavily in tourism infrastructure and upgrade accommodation services to meet tourists’ needs. Quang Ninh's tourism strategy extends beyond its famous beach destinations to develop cultural tourism, eco-tourism, adventure sports, and wellness retreats across the province./.
