Residents to benefit from wastewater treatment project

With workscheduled to be completed in the next 45 months, the Hung Yen wastewatertreatment plant will have a capacity of 6,300cu.m per day, benefitingabout 40,000 residents in Hung Yen city's five wards of Quang Trung, LeLoi, An Tao, Minh Khai and Hien Nam.
The project will helpimprove the living conditions of the residents and protect theenvironment by treating wastewater before it is discharged.
Theinvestment for the project came from the RoK’s Economic DevelopmentCooperation Fund (EDCF), which was established in 1987 with the purposeof promoting economic co-operation between the RoK and developingcountries.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Vice President ofEximbank, Yim Seong-hyeog, said Vietnam is facing severe wastewaterproblems due to rapid industrialisation and urbanisation.
