RoK launches campaign to promote spring tourism in Vietnam

Hanoi (VNA) – The representative office of the Korea TourismOrganisation (KTO) in Vietnam is implementing a campaign to promote springtourism in the Republic of Korea.

Beginning in February, the campaignwill end in May and see the participation of 14 leading Vietnamese travelagencies such as Vietravel, Saigontourist, Ben Thanh Tourist, Vietrantour,Hanoi Redtours, TST Tourist, Dolphin Tour, Transviet Travel, and Viet MediaTravel.

With a string of activities, thecampaign aims to introduce Vietnamese visitors to new and attractivedestinations in the RoK during spring – one of the country’s most beautifulseasons.

According to the KTO Vietnam, the RoKwelcomed 457,000 Vietnamese tourists in 2018, a year-on-year increase of 41percent, of whom 146,000 visited the country from February-May, accounting for32 percent of the total and up 45 percent year-on-year.

Last year, 3.8 million Koreansvisited Vietnam. In the first two months of 2019, the RoK ranked first in thenumber of tourists to Vietnam, with nearly 800,000 arrivals.-VNA
