HCM City (VNA) - The movie "Sai Gon, anh yeu em" (Sai Gon, I love you), directed by Ly Minh Thang, won the jury prize at the ASEAN-China Film Festival on December 4.
Director Hoang Nhat Nam and well-known director, actress and producer Jiang Wenli were on the jury panel.
In addition to screenings of more than 30 movies from across Asia, the festival organised a seminar on cultural exchanges and potential collaborations among participating South East Asian countries.
Actor Minh Tiep, who represented Vietnam, spoke at the seminar.
The festival was held on December 2-5 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It will be held for the second time in China’s Fujian province next year.-VNA
Eight teams will join the tournament, divided into two groups. Group A features Vietnam, the Philippines, Sichuan Club (China), and Australia, while Group B consists of Vietnam U21, Korabelka Club (Russia), Taiwan (China), and U21 Thailand.
Despite strong home support and high expectations, Vietnam were unable to overcome the defending champions, who secured their third consecutive win over Vietnam in a regional final, following previous victories in 2014 and 2023.
