This is the first gold medal Thanh won at a SEA Games and Vietnam’s first gold medal of the third day.
Thanh got the highest points in all events except for the rings toaccumulate 86.150 points, ahead of Pham Phuong Hung, who made a mistakein the pommel horse event and had to settle for a silver with 85.250points.
The bronze medal went to Gan Gabriel of Singapore.
Vietnam also won five bronzes in the morning in diving, boxing, two in canoeing and in Petanque.-VNA
Nguyen Trong Nha Uyen has made history for Vietnam’s dancesport by clinching a bronze medal in the solo Latin category at the WDSF World Championship 2025 in Germany.
