SEA Games 29: Vietnam at 3rd place on August 28

Vietnam remained at the third place on the medal tally at the end of the 9th day of the ongoing SEA Games 29 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Vietnam remained at thethird place on the medal tally at the end of the 9th day of theongoing SEA Games 29 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The country registered 55 gold, 41 silver and 51 bronzemedals.

August 28 could be said to be a golden day for theVietnamese weightlifting team, when both Thach Kim Tuan and Trinh Van Vinh wonhighest scores in the men’s 56-kg and 62kg events, respectively.

Weightlifter Vinh even broke two SEA Games records for atotal lift of 307kg and snatch lift of 172 kg.

The women’s rhythmic gymnasticsteam and taekwondo artists added 3 silver medals, while badminton andmuay brought 3 bronze medals to Vietnam stock on the day.

Host Malaysia was still on top of the tally with 109 gold,75 silver and 69 bronze, , while the figures for runner-up Thailand were 60, 72and 74, respectively.-VNA

𓄧 Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee.
