SEA Games 31: Bac Giang to allow free entry to all events

Bac Giang (VNA) – The northern province of Bac Giang -the host of badminton matches of the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31) from May 16-22, will allow free entry to all games.
According to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, thisdecision aims to encourage spectators to the event, on the condition that all spectators have to strictly comply with regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control.
As many as 127 athletes from eight countries,namely Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand,Singapore, and Vietnam, are expected to compete in badminton.
𓂃 The hosting of SEA Games 31 events will offer a good chance for Bac Giang to promote local sport development along with tourism, thus attracting more visitors to thelocality.
Bac Giang has so far basically completed all preparations for its hosting.
Aside from the main venue in Hanoi, Bac Giang is one of the11 other localities that will host competitions of the 31st SEA Games, slatedfor May 12 - 23.
💦 The Games, themed “For a stronger South EastAsia”, will feature 40 sports with 526 events and expect to attract around10,000 participants. The biennial event was initially slated for late 2021 butdelayed due to the pandemic’s impact./.
Cambodia may obtain gold medals in some sports including petanque, vovinam, taekwondo and muay at the upcoming 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31) in Vietnam, Secretary-General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia Vath Chamroeun underlined.
The northern province of Quang Ninh, which will host seven sports during the upcoming 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31), will offer free entry to spectators to enjoy all the competitions in the locality.
Vietnamese athletes have set a goal of winning 16-18 gold medals to defend the country's first place in the track and field events at the upcoming 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.
The 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31) will take place from May 12 to 23 in Hanoi and 11 other localities across Vietnam, marking the second time the country has hosted the regional sporting event.
The ambassador noted that among the 300,000 Vietnamese residing in the RoK, around 3,000 are living in Pyeongtaek and contributing actively to the local economy. Ho expressed his hope that the local authorities will continue support the overseas Vietnamese community in the city.
This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee. The outcome shows the trust and recognition that member states have given Vietnam for its efforts and achievements in carrying out and promoting the Convention, as well as for its active role, strong standing, and growing credibility at UNESCO.

For the first time, Vietnamese audiences will have the opportunity to experience the ballet masterpiece "Don Quixote" in its original version by renowned choreographer Marius Petipa.

This marks the first time Vietnam has hosted a continental-level Muay event which will feature competitions across 28 weight categories in combat and eight performance categories.
Coming to the Vietnamese booth, visitors had the chance to take part in a bamboo dance, a workshop on painting woven bamboo or rattan, or quizzes about Vietnam.
These are impressive achievements, not only showing the efforts and prowess of Vietnamese paddlers but also serving as proof of the sports sector’s strategic and systematic investment.
