Hanoi (VNA) – The volume of searches from Indian visitors for tourism services in Vietnam has increased strongly in recent months, according to Google’s market trend tracker tool.
A report from Google shows that the search volume for flights fromIndian tourists in April increased sharply by 400% compared to the sameperiod last year. The figure jumped by 3,000% in May, and is continuing to increase in June.
Meanwhile, the search for accommodation bymid-June tripled compared to early April.
The most searched destinations by Indian people are Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City,Phu Quoc (Kien Giang province); Quy Nhon(Binh Dinh province); the central city of Da Nang, Hoi An (Quang Nam province),Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa province), Da Lat (Lam Dong province), and Ha Long (QuangNinh province).
India is considered one of the potential markets for Vietnamese tourism. Thenumber of Indian visitors to Vietnam rose from 85,000 in 2016 to 169,000 in2019./.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested the Indian side create maximum conditions for bilateral trade, especially for Vietnam’s electronic products, textiles, and farm produce to enter India during his meeting on April 19 with visiting Speaker of the Indian Lok Sabha (the lower house) Om Birla.
