Da Nang (VNA) - Seven internationalteams, including three coming for the first time, and the host will compete inthe 2018 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) starting at the end ofthis month.
In addition to France, the US, Italy andPortugal, the event will see debutants Surex Firma Rodzinna from Poland, VulcanDisplay Fireworks from Hong Kong, and GFF from Sweden.
The makeshift stages can accommodate morespectators than last year. Each of them will have a large LED screen for thespectators to see the fireworks displays.
Side events like a street parade and certain newactivities are expected to bring more excitement and colour to the DIFF thisyear.
The ninth annual event will have the theme “TheLegends of Bridges” and feature stories about well-known bridges.
Ticket will range from 50,000 VND (2.2 USD) pernight for children less than a metre tall to 2 million VND (about 88 USD) foreach of the opening and final nights, the organisers said.
The contest will take place on the banks of theHan River from April 29 to June 30. The main stages will be on Tran Hung Daostreet and in the yard of Olalani Riverside Towers.
Vietnam and Poland will perform on April 29,France and the US on May 26, Italy and Hong Kong on June 2, and Sweden andPortugal on June 9.

The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2018, themed “The Legend of Bridges”, will kick off on April 30 and end on June 30 with the participation of Vietnam and seven foreign teams.
The central city of Da Nang aims to promote the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) to foreign friends and the city’s image as a leading destination of festivals and events in Asia.
Ticket prices for the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2018 will range from 300,000 VND (13.3 USD) to 2 million VND (88.5 USD) for each night’s performance on Han River banks between April 30 and June 30.
Fireworks will light up the sky of Ho Chi Minh City later this month to celebrate 43 years of the South Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975) and the 132nd May Day (May 1, 1886).
The Vietnamese team will gather on June 26 in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, where they will train until July 14 before departing for Indonesia for the ASEAN U23 Championship 2025, which runs from July 15 to 29. Vietnam will face Laos on July 19 and Cambodia on July 22 in the group stage.

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
