Seven Vietnamese golfers to attend ASIAD 19

The Vietnam Golf Association (VGA) on July 19 selected seven athletes to attend Asian Games (ASIAD) 19 taking place in Hangzhou, China, in September this year.

Hanoi (VNA) ཧ– The Vietnam Golf Association (VGA)on July 19 selected seven athletes to attend Asian Games (ASIAD) 19 takingplace in Hangzhou, China, in September this year.

From July 2-4, the Sports Authority of Vietnam incollaboration with the VGA successfully organised qualifying rounds in Vinpearl Golf South Hoi An to selectthe best athletes who will represent Vietnam at the biggest sports competition in Asia. The Vietnamese men’s golf team consists of fourathletes and women's team, three. Among the selected athletes, four ranked thefirst and second in the qualifying round. The Training Board selectedthree more athletes according to criteria such as place on the World Amateur GolfRankings; results of the National Amateur Golf Championship 2023; and achievementsof athletes at major tournaments in the first half of 2023, among others./.

♊ Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee. The outcome shows the trust and recognition that member states have given Vietnam for its efforts and achievements in carrying out and promoting the Convention, as well as for its active role, strong standing, and growing credibility at UNESCO.
