Thailand receives most CMMI software appraisals in ASEAN for 3rd year
For the third consecutive year, Thai firms have received the most appraisals for standardised software practices compared to those from other ASEAN member nations.

Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - For the third consecutive year, Thai firmshave received the most appraisals for standardised software practicescompared to those from other ASEAN member nations.
ThitapaSamitinon, Deputy Director of the National Science and TechnologyDevelopment Agency (NSTDA), presented awards to 16 companies thatreceived Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) appraisal.
Shesaid that since 2007, her agency has worked with software developmentorganisations to push for standardised practices to meet internationaldemand and boost credibility in the Thai software industry. Over thepast three years, a total of 86 Thai companies have received CMMIappraisal, the most among ASEAN member nations.
CMMIappraisals have led to higher revenue for the software industry, withone survey indicating that appraised companies received a five-foldreturn on investment.
