Hanoi (NNT/VNA) – Thailand has been upgraded to Level 1, Exercise Normal Precautions, in the latest US Department of State Travel Advisory issued earlier this month.

The announcement, shared on June 16, places Thailand in the safest category, alongside destinations such as Japan, Australia, Canada, and Singapore.

The update represents Thailand’s robust public safety standards and readiness to welcome international travellers. The Level 1 status is expected to support the country's ongoing tourism recovery by boosting visitor confidence, increasing arrivals, and generating employment and income across hotels, restaurants, and related services.

Although the overall rating has improved, Yala, Pattani, and Narathiwat provinces remain at Level 2, Increased Caution. Major travel hubs such as Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Pattaya continue to be considered safe and meet international security standards.

Thailand’s ranking is supported by various safety measures, including Tourist Assistance Centres, compensation schemes for foreign visitors, and dedicated tourist courts that provide accessible legal support during emergencies or disputes.

🔜 Authorities view the US advisory revision as a strong signal of global confidence in Thailand’s status as a premier destination. The upgrade is expected to draw more high-spending visitors, especially from the US, and contribute to economic growth throughout the country./.
