Three killed in Thailand’s police helicopter crash

Bangkok (VNA) - A police helicopter crashed and burst into flames in Muang district of Thailand’s central Prachuap Khiri Khan province on May 24, killing two pilots and a mechanic of the Kanchanaburi Police Aviation Unit.

According to the Royal Thai Police, a Bell 212 helicopter from the aviation unit, encountered problems while en route from Surat Thani airport after an operation.

The crash took place at Nong Kok village in Muang district at about 1pm (local time). The helicopter was engulfed in flames, and firefighters and rescuers were working to put the blaze out.

𒉰 Pol Gen Kittharat ordered relevant agencies to urgently launch an investigation into the crash and to provide immediate support to the families of the deceased./.
