Tokyo concert marks 45 years of Vietnam-Japan ties

Tokyo (VNA) – A concert marking the 45th anniversaryof Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations was held at the Suntory Hall in Tokyo onJuly 20 with the presence of the Japanese Emperor and Empress.
After the two countries’ national anthems, theaudience enjoyed famous musical pieces of the world and Vietnam performed byartists of the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO).
Notably, the symphony “Nguoi ve dem toi ngayvui” (He who brought happiness to us) composed by Trong Bang, describingVietnamese people’s love for late President Ho Chi Minh, received a big roundof applause from the audience.
The orchestra was led by Japanese conductorTetsuji Honna, who is also principal conductor and music director of the VNSO.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuongsaid musical exchange is an impressive thing in the two countries’ relations,noting that Nha Nhac (Vietnamese court music) came to Japan in the mid-8thcentury.
It could be said that people-to-people exchangebetween the countries began through music, he added.
The concert, part of a series of activitiescelebrating 45 years of bilateral diplomatic relations, attracted about 1,500Vietnamese and Japanese people.

The Special Toyota Concert 2018 will take place at the Vietnam National Academy of Music in Hanoi on July 13 as part of activities to mark the 45th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties.

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
Vietnam continues to sit just behind continental powerhouses Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, China, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
