All the 240 households in Thieng Lieng hamlet once knew only salt production and aquaculture, but now welcoming tourists has become a source of their joy and income.
The campaign to select a new Tourism Ambassador for the 2014-16 tenurewill run until October 30, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourismannounced on April 2.
Actress Ly Nha Ky has completed her term asAmbassador and with the campaign to find a replacement extended, noTourism Ambassador is currently active so far this year.
Accordingto Tran Nhat Hoang, Director of Culture, Sport and Tourism PromotionCentre, candidates who are Vietnamese living at home and abroad shouldbe individuals of high professional standing with outstandingachievements in their work, as well as people who have made an activecontribution to society and have the capacity to perform fund-raising.
He said besides National Tourism Ambassador, the ministry will assignTourism Ambassadors in various regions and additional representativesabroad.
So far, the Department of International Cooperation hasreceived applications from Miss Tourism Huynh Thi Ngoc Han, Hanoi-basedactress Lan Phuong, Hanoi-based English teacher Do Thi Hong Thuan, MissSoutheast Asia 2012 Dieu Han and the first-runner up of Miss Asia USA2012 Chau Mong Nhu and Miss Asia USA 2006 Jennifer Pham.-VNA
