Toyota Classics 2018 to take place in HCM City this month

The Toyota Classics 2018 event themed “Music that Moves Lives” is scheduled to take place at the Municipal Theatre of Ho Chi Minh City on November 17, heard a press conference in the city on November 1.

HCM City (VNA) – The Toyota Classics2018 event themed “Music that Moves Lives” is scheduled to take place at theMunicipal Theatre of Ho Chi Minh City on November 17, heard a press conferencein the city on November 1.

This year’s concert will be the 21st editionheld in Vietnam, marking the 29th year of the Toyota Classics.

The concert will feature the “Orchestra of theAge of Enlightenment” from the United Kingdom, along with musical director StevenDevine, British soprano Charlotte Beament, and violin soloist DanielEdgar.

The Vocational Ballet School of HCM City (VBSH)will also perform at the event.

At the press conference, Vice President ofToyota Motor Vietnam Do Thu Hoang said that over the past 20 years, theconcert’s ticket proceeds were granted to the Toyota Scholarship for VietnameseYoung Music Talents.

As many as 203 concerts have been held over thepast 30 years, promoting cultural exchange across the world. 

The total ticket proceeds of the concerts, worthabout 9.5 million USD, were given to charity activities to support the developmentof 14 countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific. –VNA

๊ Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee
